glitch in Excel

Has anybody else had the problem I am having and if so is there a workaround?

I have an Excel workbook with multiple sheets, one of which has stopped working as it should. It has a lot of information (more than a screen's worth) so I have to scroll up and down all the time. When I try and enter information in a cell the window immediately scrolls back up to the top, regardless of how far down the sheet I am. I can carry on typing but I can't see the actual cell as that is now off the bottom of the screen and I have to scroll back down to it.

I have tried copying the sheet but the problem is carried over to the new sheet, I have tried making a copy of the sheet into a new workbook with the same result and have done 'save as' to create an entirely new document with no success. I have deleted the Excel preferences and restarted with no success, so am confident it is an error with my file and not Excel itself.

But I'm at a loss. I could recreate the sheet but there is loads of information in it and I haven't got the spare time to do it.

Sorry if this has been posted before but am on my lunch hour and haven't got the time to search properly.

Thanks in advance of any replies.
