Global change of Phonetic Guide formats

If you discover that the text you have written in Japanese was too big
or too small, you highlight the entire text and change the font size.
So far so good. However, if you used ruby script/phonetic guides, those
ones are not affected, so you have to open every single one manually to
correct it. There doesn't even seem to be any macro commands to change
it. If you change from small font size to large font size, it's even
worse, as the ruby remains at the previous position, which now is
_inside_ the bigger characters.

Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks

Hi Magnus,

You can display field codes (Option+F9), then replace the field switch for the position with "Edit > Replace"...
say, replace "\o\ad(\s\up 12" with "\o\ad(\s\up 18".

BTW: How do you change the font size(s)? Maybe the built-in commands GrowFont and ShrinkFont work better. They decrease all font sizes to the next value in the font size dropdown, more or less proportionally.
In Word2004, only ShrinkFont seems to have a built-in shortcut, Cmnd+Shift+<. I'd change that to Cmnd+<, and assign Cmnd+Shift+< (= Cmd+>) to GrowFont.

Klaus

Klaus,

How about Command-[ and Command-] ? Or am I out of context?

That works! Thanks a million!

That does not work unfortunately - at least not on my machine with
Office 2004, English, student edition. The grow and shrink commands
only change the main font.

I checked out a Japanese version of Office in the AppleStore here, and
it seems to work different in some ways. (When I had a Phonetic Guide
it seemed to default to the right hiragana.) I'll check out the grow
commands next time I get there.

Cheers
