Global Macros Template

Scott Schaffer

Hi all.

I apologise if this is not the correct forum for this question but I am
not sure where else it would go.

I have created several macros for office wide use and have placed them
in a template that all users have access to on the network. Each
workstation points to this template in the Startup File Location in
their options.

This is fine except for when I need to make a change to the macro or add
another macro to the template. The template is loced as read only when
ever anyone has word open and I have to wait until everyone is off
before I can save any changes.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Thanks

Yes. Keep the Startup folder on the local C drive where it belongs. When you
have an update, get your IT people to get it copied to everyone's machine by
using a login script, SMS or some other method. If it is only a small
office, go round and install the template yourself.
