Hi Shiva,

Global.mpt is a file located on your PC (Project client) where are stored a
lot of views items : views, filters, tables, VBA modules... (everything you
find in Tools / Organizer)
You can add your own views in this Global.mpt via Tools / Organizer (copy
one customized item from your project file to the Global.mpt) so all your
projects on this PC can use this item.
Warning : You posted this question on the server news group. If you are
using Project Server, the Project server administrator can use the
Enterprise Global which is doing almost the same thing, but at the
enterprise level, for every user of Project Professional.
Problem : a view in the Global.mpt on your computer cannot have the same
name as a view in the Enterprise Global. In case of conflict, the E-Global
wins...

The Global.mpt file is the template file saved on your PC's hard drive when
you install Microsoft Project. This template file contains all of the
default objects that ship with Microsoft Project, including Views, Tables,
Filters, Groups, Macros, Toolbars, Calendars, etc. A good way to think
about the Global.mpt file is to describe it as your "library" of default
objects.

When you launch Microsoft Project, the software opens the Global.mpt file in
the background, which gives you all of these default objects. If you create
your own personal custom Views, Tables, Filters, Groups, etc., you can copy
them to the Global.mpt file (using Tools - Organizer), which makes them
available in all current and future projects. Hope this helps.
