My business uses Outlook 2002. There are around 1500 saved contacts in a
public folder which I synchronise periodically with my mobile telephone.
The mobile (and probably other dialler utilities) is not smart enough to
deal with alternative local codes which have been entered by contact users.
The most common example is where London phone numbers are stored in the form
+44 (0) 207 xxx xxxx (i.e. the "0" is to be omitted when dialling from
overseas). The dialler deal fine with 0207 xxx xxxx, +44 207 xxx xxxx and
0044 207 xxx xxxx.
I'd like to use a global replace (e.g. replacing "+44 (0)" with "+44 " ).
When I tried exporting all the data to a spreadsheet and performing a Ctrl+H
operation, it inserted spurious ' characters.
Is there a global Replace editing function in Outlook?
