Global Resource Pool and Blank Tasks

I am using MS Project 2003 SP3.

I have blank tasks that show up in the resource usage view that do not show
up in the gantt view. In the resouce usage view the ID and Name fields are
blank, however the Start, Finish, and Work all have entries in them.

Are these quirks or human error?

I would like to delete them, unless someone can tell me they are serving
some useful purpose.

Do you have any Tasks where the Task name has been deleted (or is a space)?
That would explain what you see.

Rod,
They are not spacers, because they have entries for the start, finish, and
hours fields. It could be that they deleted the task, but that wouldn't
explain why the ID is also showing up blank, I don't know how you would
delete the ID field without first adding it as a separate column and that
would be very unlikely for someone to do that.

Anyway by the sounds of it they don't seem to be serving a purpose, thanks
for the help.
