Global Template / Inheriting custom changes

If you have a number of projects based off the same
customized Global Template which might have a custom
field based on a formula and you change the formula in
the custom field,is there a way for the existing projects
to "inherit" that change? It seems like the Global
template (global.mpt) is brought into a new project
statically and a future change is not inherited on a
subsequent opening of that project file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Greg:

You'll have to add the custom field to the global
template through the organizer. Then the newly minted
custom field will be available to all files. However,
you will have to overwrite the existing custom if the new
custom field and old custom field are based on the same
(ex. if they are both modifications of text1).
