I am trying to start and make advanced use of some of Word features.
I have created an hierarchy of styles which reflects more closely how
I work with my documents, and I ditched almost all the default styles.
I have modified the normal template to include some fundamental
styles, which all other templates must inherit (a root object).
However I am not sure how to make best use of this hierarchy now, and
I would like to know how people are dealing with their hierarchy of
templates.
In my view there must be paid attention to the fact that updating a
style in a given template does not imply that all the style in all
templates will be updated.
It is this lack of change propagation which makes me wonder why you
should have an hierarchy of styles spanning multiple templates (too
hard to make style change propagate by hand), but rather a self
contained hierarchy in each template, with the certainty of having
consistent inheritance.
I don't know if what I have written makes sense or if this is going to
be eventually useful, but I would appreciate any comments by whoever
is experienced or interested.
Thanks in advance.
