Gmail and iPhone

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: pop

I set up a gmail account on my entourage. However, when I check my email with Entourage, it erases my email from my iPhone and my gmail even though I have "leave a copy on the server" checked.

Strangely, I have another gmail account set up on Entourage and that one doesn't do any of the above. I can check it on Entourage, iPhone, or Gmail.

PLEASE HELP driving me NUTS!

Connect to your accounts using IMAP and not POP on your iPhone and with
Entourage.
