GMail messages not downloading in Outlook 2007 with IMAP, empty fo

Hi all,

I've recently upgraded from Outlook 2003 to 2007. Now I'm having some issues
with my mail accounts.

First, I always used GMail (POP) to download my GMail messages. But, since I
upgraded, it doesn't work anymore. Messages are no longer downloaded.
Also I have another POP-account, which is from my local internet provider
(Telenet), that always used to work. With this account I have the same
problem, it doesn't work anymore. However, I didn't change any settings (mail
server, ports, etc) after upgrading.

Now, for my GMail account, I tried the following:
I deleted my GMail POP account, and wanted to make an IMAP connection to my
GMail. I've done all the settings exactly as shown on the GMail site, for
enableing IMAP with an Outlook 2007 mail client.
Now I have the following issue: Only the folders (labels) get downloaded,
but there are no messages in the folders.

Just a few notes:
- I can send e-mails from within Outlook with my GMail account. They are
shown in the Sent Mail folder in my online GMail account, but not visible in
Outlook.
- I've already deleted and re-added my GMail account to Outlook several
times, but it doesn't help.
- There are only 3320 e-mails in my account (1130 MB = 15%), so that
shouldn't be a problem.
- I'm not getting any errors in Outlook, it seems to be synchronizing
subscribed folders... but still no messages are visible in Outlook.
- When I receive a message in my online GMail account, and my Outlook is
opened as well, Outlook makes a "new message"-sound, but no message is
visible in Outlook.

Can anybody help me out with this?
Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Eva
