Gmail problems with Outlook 2003 - I can receive but not send

I've followed the Gmail instructions on this page to set up my account using
IMAP - http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77661

I can receive emails in Outlook, but when I send them they get stuck in my
outbox.

Any suggestions?

PROBLEM SOLVED - I went through the instructions again point by point (for
the 4th time!) and discoved I had missed a step.
