We are using double-click behavior to link a placeholder shape on one
page to another page with related data. Additionally, we create a
hyperlink to a shape on the related page so that saving the file as a
web page will handle the link.
The first question is, why can't Visio handle updating the 'Go to page'
when a page is renamed (like an Excel formula referencing another
worksheet updates when the referenced worksheet is renamed). Is this a
bug/valid enhancement request?
The second question is, why can't Visio update the hyperlink as well
when a page is renamed. I saw another google group with an explanation
about Visio not making the assumption about internal vs. external
hyperlinks, but it appeared to me that the shapesheet stores internal
hyperlinks as the 'subaddress' and external links as the 'address'. If
my assumption that subaddress is for internal references is correct,
can't Visio update this attribute in the shapesheet automatically if a
referenced page is renamed?
I believe our developer could capture the event of renaming the page so
we can update these attributes, but I'd rather get this out-of-the-box
from Visio if possible.
