Going from Frontpage to MS Expressions Web

artbug

Since there are no longer upgrades for Frontpage I am looking into the new MS
Expressions Web program to manage my website.

Is this the simplest web creator program MS has as the logical upgrade from
Frontpage?

Is there a way to convert my site from Frontpage to Expressions Web without
re creating every page?

YES

There is no need. Just open the site in EW. But be aware that any code that
uses FP Server Extensions will not work in EW.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281532/
This page lists all components requiring FP2002 and FP2000 extensions

(Thanks to Ron Symonds - Microsoft MVP (FrontPage) for this reference. )

Trevor
- you are incorrect in your statement "that any code that | uses FP Server Extensions will not work in EW."
All existing design time FPSE will work, just are no longer editable
All existing run time FPSE will work w/o change

Thanks, Stefan

Yes, I should have taken more care. I suppose one should also add a warning
that many web servers may now be removing FPSE

Only the non-Windows servers are removing support for the FP SE
- because MS has ended all support for them
The FP SE on Windows hosted servers are still supported
