Going from Office 2003 to 2007

If I upgrade from Office 2003 to 2007, will my Outlook contacts and folders
be saved, as I understand that 2003 is uninstalled before 2007 is loaded. I
tried to install the trial version, but Outlook would not install. I was
hoping to try it before I bought it. Does anyone have any ideas?
Since the last Office update, my Office 2003 has been messed up, and even
though I uninstalled it, the problems are still there.
Thanks.

The upgrade will replace the previous version and all data will remain
intact, but its allways wise to have data backed up, which you do anyway?
You cannot install a trial version of Outlook unless you uninstall the
previous version

Without knowing what you mean by messed up by an update, its difficult to
comment
Its never wise to upgrade if you have a problem, without curing that problem
first

Since the update on June 19, I receive this error message, "Microsoft Word
has encountered a problem, and needs to close." The funny thing is, I am not
in Word at all when this happens, but in Outlook. I have no idea what to do
about it.

I tried to do that, but I receive this error message: "Error 1311. Source
file not found: D:\ZF561407.CAB
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I click retry and nothing happens.

If D is your CD/DVD drive try inserting your Office installation disk and
see if that helps...

With all office apps closed, when you insert your dvd/cd of office does it
auto run, after a mo, and present you with a number of options, one being to
repair?

Yes, that is correct. I click on Repair, and the process starts when the
Error message 1311 pops up. I noticed a new Microsoft update a few moments
ago. Perhaps they have heard from alot of us who have had difficulties, and
are trying to remedy the problem. Well, it is a nice thought...........

I don't know what would have caused this issue to occur. I am at the point
where I must totally uninstall Office 2003 and reinstall it, after back up,
of course.
