Going live, updateing instances

Using MSP2003,
Question: I created two server instances in project server (Development &
Production). All my views, templates, custom fields, etc have been completed
and tested in Development. Now I would like to take the Development global
and restore it to the Production instance. The only issue is some clients
have created projects on and saved to Production. If I restore my
Development global which has many differences to Production will clients
start to see errors when using this new global (opening and saving)? Do all
projects created on one instance need to be imported to another instance?
What needs to be done?

I don't know about "errors" but they will see differences. They will
be informed that there is a new Enterprise Global that they will start
using. If you have deleted custom fields or custom field values, it
won't error per se - they just won't see the data. That also means
that if you have deleted or added custom fields, you need to make sure
the PWA views are accurate.

If it's just importing the Enterprise Global file, you shouldn't need
to do anything with the current projects. They will be get the new
Enterprise Global when they open Project.
