Is there a way to have word go to a specific bookmark as soon as a document is opened?

No, not in 2008. AppleScript does not support the "OnOpen" event you need
to activate something at file open.

Sorry.

John hi and many thanks.

I'll probably set up a Quickeys command to find my bookmark.

I much appreciate your help, Cheers, Richard

Yes, that would work :)

I use a very simple "GoTo" in VBA in Word 2004 to do the very same thing.

I have another macro that saves the position of the insertion point every
time I save the document, so I can always get back to the point of last
edit.

These will again be possible in Office Word 2010 :)

Cheers
