Conquest Software is looking for users to beta test our new software title -
HandicapConquest. In exchange for your feedback, we will offer you a FREE
registration code.

HandicapConquest 1.10 is a powerful Microsoft® Excel-based tool that makes
it easy for golfers to calculate their golf handicap. Users can track their
scores over time and compute their handicap in using the USGA system. The
program also displays graphs of your performance over time to monitor
improvements in your game. The interface is simple and easy to use, allowing
users to be up and running in minutes.

The software is a small Excel workbook that requires MS Excel 2000 or higher
to function. To learn more and download the software, please visit:

http://www.conquest-software.com/products/handicap_conquest.htm

or download the file directly from:

This is a limited functionality version. However, I will email a FREE
registration code to anyone willing to test the software and answer the
following questions:

1. What bugs or problems did you find?

2. What changes or enhancements would you recommend?

3. Is the Help/ReadMe documentation adequate?

4. Our target price to register the full-function version will be $12.00
USD. Considering the product and its features, would you rate this price:
a. a very good value
b. a good value
c. a fair value
d. a poor value
e. a very poor value

David,

Sorry but this isnt going to be a friendly post, I'll give it to you
stright from the hip:

You've spent some time to make it look good on the outside.
Unfortunately you've spend more time on looks and money (as in
registration fees...), then in functionality.

For instance.. in your Post New Score..

I can post scores in the future.

shouldn't there be some valdation of the score?
(i can post a score lower then the number of tees, negative numbers,
decimals etc etc?

I can post a homecourse that's not in the database.
I can post to a non existent course, without it being picked up as an
error => thus invalidatin the course statistics if you make a slight
type.

shouldn't there be a dropdown to allow easy entry of the Course name?

need i go on?

Moreover I had a look at the code as well:

I dont see any error handling... Is this planned after testing?
You'll need to add it, if your code is to recover from an error
situation....

The code is very inefficient. Probably because it's the result of a lot
of recording and little programming. You really should learn how to work
with ranges thus avoiding the activecell fallback method. :(

All in all - a nice beginning. I'd say the layout was done. Now you've
got to make a program out of it and earn the fee.

Some excellent feedback, KeepItCool. I really appreciate it. My strength
is definitely not with the VB macro side of things.

Will work on the validation piece, should be fairly straight-forward.

Any advice on how I can learn how to address the error-handling issue?

Again I appreciate your time and thoughts.

Dave
