Good Samaritan to Help me obtain Outlook Files...

I have a backup file through the Windows XP Professional backup utility that
has all my OneNote files in it and can't seem to restore the backup files. My
system crashed a month ago when I downloaded the latest Microsoft Office
Professional 2003 SP2. Is there anyone out there who can open this backup
file for me? I am limited on funds and I would be grateful for anyone who can
help. These OneNote files I need so bad. I could put the backup on a zip and
anyone can download it off of my server to obtain the OneNote files.

Please help me, anyone. I am so devoted to OneNote and for the life of me
ran into this problem...
Warmly,
Michael

Using the normal windows backup utility, the checkmark box is simply "greyed
out" and won't let me check mark it so that I can move on and restore the
OneNote files. I've never seen it before. Originally, and in this specific
case, all I did was back up "My Documents" where all the OneNote files
originally were.

Hope you can help...!! Michael

How large is the .BKF file you're trying to restore from? Where is it
located? (hard drive? CD? network drive?)

I'll have to put it on my server as it is large, even with only backing up
the "MY Documents". If not, do you know anywhere or online service that would
let me place the backup file on?

I'll drive Xdrive.com too if my server can't handle it. I think it's about
224 megs...
I do hope you can help me. The only thing I need is a zip of my OneNote files.

Your the best and I won't forget this. When and if you help me, I will try
and come up with some money and send it to you via paypal. It is just that I
am short right now, but need immediate assistance or a good samaritan help.
Warmly,
Michael

No payment necessary, but thanks for the offer. :) Let's see if we can get
this recovered first...

Is it possible for you to move the BKF file to your local hard drive, even
if only temporarily? I'm not sure that accessing it across the network is
the problem, but I don't think it's helping.

Hi Ben,
I will put the backup file on my desktop and perhaps we can do remote
assistance. I am on a wireless 802.11g, so it should work through either
Netmeeting, and/or Remote Assistance. Let me know which is best for you sir.

Let's synchronize our time if you like. I can be available at 6pm Pacific
time today or what ever time is best for you to possibly grab it and see what
you can do. Let me know what time is best for you sir...

I am sooooooooo grateful. All I need is my OneNote files and nothing else...

Let me know... :)

With apologies I'm not in a position to do remote asssitance in that manner.
I'd simply suggest that you copy the .BKF file to your hard drive then try
and run the backup utility to restore it.
