Hi,
Windows XP machine.
I have setup folder redirection in my GPO for Application
Data. However when I try and start Outlook 2003 for the
first time it yeilds an error during the MSI setup, a
message box appears on screen suggesting a retry and if
that fails to re-install office. Looking in the eventviwer
reveals that it fails to create a several registry keys in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER, despite the user having full control of
this key.
As an experiment I removed the folder redirection from my
policy and then re-tried outlook 2003. This time
everything worked as per normal.
So my question is outlook 2003 compatible with redirected
application data folders ? if so what form should they
take?. My folder is of the form :
\\<server>\<sysidgroup>\<username>\Essential-User-
Settings\Application Data\
Any advice on this most appreciated,
