Grammar Check Stopped Working for Entire Program

I have two of three computers (one is a work computer and updates are
controlled by them) where MS Word 2003 SP2 has stopped performing the
Grammar Check. I checked all of the settings and everything is
correct per MS Knowledge Base articles and Help Files. One 'broken'
app is running on WinXP Pro SP2, one 'broken' app is running on WinXP
Home, and the working app is also running on WinXP Pro SP2.

The test sentence I typed is:

"There is a squirrel it is fat." This should have flagged a grammar
error after squirrel (because it is missing the conjunction 'and').

Is there possibly a WinXP patch causing this issue? (I only say this
because that may be the only difference between the working PC and the
broken PC as the working one is from work and all patches are tested
in-house before being pushed through the network).

I can only add that you are not alone. That particular sentence isn't
flagged in Word 2007 either. I've tried playing with a few grammar options,
but it just won't see the glaring error. Obviously it is a deficiency in the
grammar checker.

More likely someone else is my best proofreader because I can see the hidden
colon!
