Grammar checker should recognize that "data" is a plural word.

The grammar checker makes suggestions as though "data" is a singular word.
Though it is often incorrectly used in the singular, it's actually plural.
Type the follwing sentence in Word for an example.

The distribution of the data look like this:

G

garfield-n-odie

In your example, the verb "look" should be singular because the subject
of the sentence is "distribution", which is singular.

I stand corrected; garfieldnodie is certailnly correct here.

It's true that most people use data singularly, but I actually hear quite a
few people use it in the plural. The more database designers that a company
has around the more you will hear it that way.
