Grant users access to Project Server but not put them in Active Directory?

We are using Microsoft Project Server to manage projects we perform for
our customers. We want our customers to be able to logon to project
server and the associated sharepoint site. We have only been able to
achieve this by entering our customers into our active directory on our
Microsoft Small Business Server. It gets confusing distinguishing who
is an employee and who is a client.

Is there any way to not put our customers into Active Directory and
still have them be able to access Project Server and Sharepoint
services?

Thanks,
Michael

The way to sort this out in Active directory is to create an organization
container called employees and another called customers, along with
corresponding security groups. This isn't really a Project or Project Server
question. You should ask Active directory questions in the appropriate
newsgroup.
