graphic converters

crahed and had to reinstall pub 2000, have many websites made with 2000, but after reinstall i try and grab one of my old pics and it says to reinstall again as graphic converters cant read pic ..same with my old backgrounds.. wont read a office background either. clipart pix are o

something did happen on pc as all the pix have a strange icon but can be seen correctly in acdsee3

i believe all the icons are from ms photo editor.. tried to unload the editor and then got an unreconizable icon

When you install publisher and select custom install option you can select
and unselect what graphic converters to install.
It is also possible for one to be corrupted and need replaced.
An icon for a file depends on what program has been assigned as that file
types default program.
Typically the most recent program installed that supports a file type will
take over that file type and relevant icons.
