Graphic Representation

How can I generate summary information that shows
available resources for the upcoming months similar to the
resource graph. I have a Master Schedule with 18 projects
and a Master Resource File. I can review individual
resources via the resource graph, but would like a 'role-
up' for management to show that we have available time to
take on new work. If this is not the best way, what is?

Ray,
Here are a couple of suggestions. First, go to the MVP webpage at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs
and look at FAQ 38 - Combined Resource Graph. Set up the graph to show
"Remaining Availability". If that doesn't quite show what you want, try
using the "analyze timescaled data in Excel" add-in found on the
Analysis toolbar. Run it from the Resource Usage view and select the
option to graph. If that still doesn't give you what you want, a custom
VBA macro can be written to export any Project data (massaged as
necessary) to Excel and displayed and/or plotted in any way, shape or
form. This approach is similar to using the add-in except you can
control it and get exactly what you want.
