graphic shows up in Word 2000 but not Word XP

We have graphics that display just fine with Word 2000 on Windows
XP. However, when we open the same file with Word XP (also on
Windows XP), the graphics do not display or print. Any ideas about this?

In Word XP, click on Tools | Options | View tab | check the "Drawings"
box and uncheck the "Picture placeholders" box | Print tab | check the
"Drawing objects" box | OK.

I should have mentioned in my original post that this problem is not
related to Picture Placeholders or Tools/view settings. I've checked
and double-checked those. (The problem happens with just about
everyone in my group--no one can see the graphic with XP or 2003
even though they can see them with 2000.)

Thanks--sorry for omitting this from my original post.

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel
| Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.

Hi Barbara,

Are the graphics inserted into Word or are they
linked into a Word document? If you're using
multiple versions it is possible that the path
to the links may vary when the documents are moved.

Thanks for the suggestion--very kind of you, but no luck. :-(

The graphics were inserted into Word (not linked). That was a good
suggestion, though. I appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks,
everyone. This is a stumper.
