Graphical Custom Fields in PS2007

I

Ignbell

Hi,

First Chance:
I made Graphical Task Fields as easy as creating a custom field with a
lookup table and then creating the graphical indicators with the values on
the Lookup table using Project Professional and they work fine, pressed F9
then Published on to PS2007, added the fields on to a task view in Project
Web Access but i when i get into the Project Center i can´t see the Graphics.
I do see them in Project Professional.
P.D: WHY can´t I create Project Custom Fields from Project Professional 2007
????

Then i created a Project text Field using a formula from PWA used it in a
Project from Project Professional and everything works fine, i see the
graphics i wan´t. Published it, pressed F9 Republished it, adde the custom
Field onto a Project View and when i go to the Project Center the View shows
only the correct data instead of the Graphical Indicators i wan´t for that
data.

??? I don´t understand why it doesn´t work when i really think that it
should.
I`d really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Nacio.

HI Nacio,

from what I understand you are saying is that you create the custom fields (
visual indicators) in MS Project Pro 2007. You now want to make these fields
visible in PWA under Project Details and it doesnt work.

Firstly, you need to create the Visual indicators in PWA under Server
Settings > Custom fields. You cannot create these visual indicators in
Project Pro anymore. Microsoft have moved this functionality to PWA in 2007.

Once you have created your indicators in PWA and added the column to the
desired view you will need to open the Project, press F9 and republish the
proejct. That should show the visual indicators.
Please also note, that Proposals and Activities do NOT display any visual
indicators, they only display the value
I hope this helps
