Graphical Indicator usage of Finish Variance in PWA Views

Would like to know if we have to rebaseline our projects when ever we
introduced any changes in Finish Variance (either in the formula, graphical
indicator, etc.)?

We are using Project 2003. I was using Finish Variance in a formula to show
when the project is delayed or not and express that info in a PWA project
view using graphical indicators. What I know is that as long as the project
has already been baselined, we do not have to rebaseline the project again
whenever we change anything to the formula or the graphical indicator. We
only have to republish.
I have recently set up a veiw which include Finish Variance as one of the
fields. I noticed that I have to rebaseline the project so that the latest
version gets reflected in the view despite being baselined before the
modification.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Leo,

Since your indicator looks at the finish variance it will display red since
you actually have a variance. I think it is more a processes issue that you
face. You have 2 several choises.

you can accept the your indicator shows red because there actually is a
finish variance.

In order to accept the variance you will need to ask for a change to your
project and based on the acceptance of your change rebaseline your project to
make the finish variance disapear.

You could amend your formula to exept a certain variance and still display
green

I hope this helps
Marc
