Graphics and Hyperlinks are not being displayed properly

I'm not sure what happed but the graphics and hyperlinks that I place in Word
documents are no longer be displayed properly. It happened all of the sudden
kind of like someone flipped a switch. An example is I will copy and paste
an image into a Word document and the results are similar to this the
following
{INCLUDEPICTURE "cid:image003.jpg@01C6AB36.EB&F$CD0"\*MERGEFORMATINET}. A
hyperlink comes out like this {HYPERLINK "HTTP://WWW.YAHOO.COM'}. Any ideas
on what switch was flipped and how to revert back the norm?

Press Alt+F9 to switch between display of field codes (what you
see now) and field results. If that doesn't help, then in Word,
click on Tools | Options | View tab | uncheck the boxes for
"All", "Hidden text", and "Field codes" | Print tab | uncheck the
"Hidden text" and "Field codes" boxes | OK.
