graphics and pictures won't group.

Hello. I am used to being able to select a graphic (such as a circle or a
screen clip) in Word, holding down the shift key, then selecting another
graphic. Then I have selected "Group" so the two move as one entity.

I cannot choose more than one item at a time in 2007. How does one do this?

Thank you.

"Inline with text" objects cannot be grouped with "wrapped"
objects. If you make all of the objects wrapped in Layout | Text
Wrapping, then you should be able to group them without using a
drawing canvas in Word 2003 or earlier, even if the object types
are dissimilar. Word 2007 is more picky about what object types
can be grouped together outside a drawing canvas, so you may need
to move the objects into a Drawing Canvas before you can group
them, and then move the grouped object off the Drawing Canvas if
desired.
