I'm inserting several small graphics, all JPGs (small maps, small images) in
a multi-page Word 2007 document. For some reason it is throwing off my page
layout. I know the graphics are causing this because when I delete them, the
layout corrects itself.
Two problems occur when the graphics are inserted: (1) the text on the page
will no longer flow to the bottom margin of the page, it stops about 2/3 of
the way. I checked the 'body text' style and removed widows/orphans,
thinking that was it, but it didn't help. (2) On the first page, the body
text follows a Header-1 header. After inserting a graphic, the body text
jumps to the start of the second page leaving the header on the first page
all alone. Again, tried removing the window/orphan settings, and also turned
on 'Show marks,' thinking I would see what is causing the "forced
page-break." But no hints there either.
Any ideas why the small inserted graphics could be causing these page layout
problems?
Many thanks.
