Graphics doesn't show up (2004)

Loading a Word document (from the WIndows world) into my Office 2004
version of Word, I don't see the graphics. If I do a print preview I
see them or if I save as PDF, the PDF has them (I assume printing would
show them). All that shows up is an outline box where the graphics
would be.

Any ideas on how to get the graphics to show up?

There's a preference to show picture placeholders in Word | Preferences,
View tab. Make sure it is not checked.
