graphics don't appear utill clicked

Hello,
I am facing a problem viewing drawings in MS-word(word 2000) on my
machine. They don't appear untill I click on the drawing. Also, the
drawings again disappear if I view another portion of the document. I
have to again click on them when ever they go "out of display area"

The same documents appear fine on other machines.

I have scanned the archives and tried all the suggestions that were
posted including print layout and tools->options->veiw settings. But
none of them has helped me so far.

I have been asked to change my graphics card. But I feel that this is
not a graphics card(or hardware) problem, but a software problem.

tia,
dhar

Just to confirm:

1. You are in Print Layout view (not Normal)?

2. You have "Drawings" checked on the View tab of Tools | Options?

3. You have "Picture placeholders" *not* checked on the View tab?

This could be an issue with resources, but perhaps someone else will have
some other ideas.

Yes. That is correct.

Resources? Could you pl. elaborate?
Also, will changing the graphics card help in anyway?
Thanks,
dhar

Updating the graphics driver might help. Reducing the number of other
running programs (and even rebooting Windows) might help. But these are all
stabs in the dark.
