Graphics don't print as properties defined

Word XP running on WIN XP

Created two graphics from the autoshapes menu, shape is "NO" indicator--the
circle with slash through it. These two graphics are on contigous pages, i.e
34 and 35. Both graphics were formatted for fill color RED and 90 %
Transparency.

The first time these two pages were printed, page 34 printed the graphic
with no fill, but was transparent. Page 35 printed the graphic with gray
tint( yes we are using balck/white printer).

Second and subsequent prints result in the graphic on page 34 with gray tint
and on page 35 no fill.

I have checked format options of both objects and can find no differences. I
then moved to another computer and tried to duplicate the issue on a
different file. I cannot duplicate the results.

FWIW: We turned OFF the drawing canvas option in Tools> Options on both
machines.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
