Graphics don't show up unless I do something on the page. Why?

Shannon

After I have placed a graphic (usually jpg) in Word, the graphic disappears
as soon as I leave the page (go to another page, minimize the window, close
then reopen). The graphics reappear only if I type something on the page.
This is extremely annoying. I want to see the graphics every time I open a
document and the whole time the doc is open. I use Microsoft Office Word
2003, part of Professional Edition.
Thanks.

Try reducing or turning off hardware acceleration in Start |
Control Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting. Also visit
your graphics adapter manufacturer's website and look for an
updated driver for your graphics adapter.

Make sure that the Picture Placeholder checkbox is not checked. Go to Tools,
Options, View and make sure the box that says Picture Placeholder does not
have a check in it
