Graphics editing inside Word XP

D

David S.

I've created a Word XP form that contains graphics (mostly imported
schematic diagrams - nothing fancy) for my boss, who needs to be able to
edit them (draw free-hand lines and shapes on the face of them) as he works
on his tablet PC. The document also contains drop-down boxes and text boxes
(again, nothing fancy).

The graphics editing features of Word aren't good enough for his needs. He
needs the features of a program like Paint, but he doesn't want to have to
leave his Word document just to edit his graphics. Is there a Word plug-in
or some other kind of program that will give him this functionality? Or is
there another way to accomplish what he needs?

Thanks for your help.

Hi David,

In truth, Word really is a word-processor and not a layouting or graphics
program. So, I'd say your boss really does need to use a graphics program. The
pictures can be LINKED into Word, so the changes he makes and saves in the
graphics program will update (no need to use copy/paste IOW).

Thanks so much for responding. Do you have any recommendations for a
graphics program that will allow me to have diagrams, combo-boxes and text
boxes in the same file?

No, I'm sorry. There could well be one out there, but since this isn't
something I need, I've not researched what's available. If I needed to look,
I might start with the Corel and Adobe product palettes...
