graphics Float over text

My old Windows 98 had a buton next to the graphic insert
page to have the graphic float over the taxtall the
time..I don't se that 0ption in the new Micro Soft Office
2003 which I downloaded today...Does anyone know how I
change this setting...now I know I can go to txt wrapping
and hit the tight button everytime but that is beginning
to be sucha hassel. Please help if you can, I would be so
thankful....sandi

The insert option for graphics may be set from tools > options > edit

Your version of Windows is not an issue, but from your description it would
appear that you may have upgraded from Word 97, in which you could select
whether or not to insert graphics floating (in the drawing layer). In Word
2000 and above, all graphics are inserted In Line with Text (inline, in the
text layer) by default. There are two ways you can change this.

1. Click on the graphic. This will display the Picture toolbar. Click on the
Text Wrapping button (dog icon) to display the wrapping menu. Change the
wrapping to any other style (you may want Square or In Front of Text), and
it will be "floating" (in the drawing layer rather than the text layer).

2. In Word 2002 and above (Tools | Options | Edit), you can select the
default wrapping style for inserted and pasted objects; once you've
established which wrapping works best for you, you can change the default.
