Graphics in word documents no longer dsplays in the "Print Layout" View

Dear All:

I do all my drafting and final composition in the Print Layout View;
it's worked well for years (Word 2003). All of a sudden, small graphics, jpg
or the like, Logo, signature no longer display, just a white triangle. When
I try the "Order" command, it's grayed and won't function. If I change to
the "Read" view, those graphics show OK, but the page layout scaling
displayed is all out of proportion to what will be printed. I need the print
layout view in full depiction mode.

At one point, I could get the logo to display, but not the signature. I
can't repeat what I did to do that, and even that is not repeatable. At one
point, I got a screen with a dog outline offering order selection, and that
worked for that moment. But I can't find that selection screen again.

So, what do I do to restore full-view in the print layout mode? Is the
dot template corrupted? I worked real hard to create that dot template...
(special header/footer with custom document data).
