Graphics moving on the page unexpectedly

I use Word 2007 in Windows xp. I have placed a .bmp graphic in the corner of
a one-page text file. When I save the file, the graphic disappears. I've
tried all the text wrapping options but can't keep the graphic in the file.
I'm having similar problems with horizontal lines moving when I save the
file. Ideas?
