Graphics - not displaying correctly...big red X instead

I inserted several graphics in my word document but where
each one should be is a big red X instead of the graphic.
What did I do wrong and how do I get my graphics
displayed??

Thanks for any help!

Go to Tools > Options > View (Tab) under the "show" heading uncheck "Picture
placeholders".
