Graphics on labels and business cards

The instructions for adding graphics to labels and business cards at:

"Add graphics
When you add graphics to labels, be sure to place the graphics where they
won't obstruct the address or otherwise interfere with the mail processing.
For more information, check with the postal service.

1.. Place the mouse pointer in the label where you want to insert the
graphic.
2.. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click the appropriate
command, depending on the location and type of graphic you want.
3.. Locate the graphic, and then double-click it to insert it."
I assume that this is to be done in the Tools, Letters and Mailings,
Envelopes and Lables, Labels tab dialog box. However when the insertion
point is in the Address box, none of the menu bar items is available.

Is there some other secret to inserting a graphic? I have also tried the
responses from an earlier post, to no avail. Oh, this is so much easier in
Publisher, but I am trying to teach this capability using Word.

I have Word 2003 and Win XP SP-1.

You have to start with a full sheet of labels. Click the New Document button
in the dialog to get a page. They're set up as a table, so be sure you have
table gridlines displayed so you can see the cell boundaries (Table | Show

Thanks Suzanne,

I was rather afraid that your guidance would be the answer. I was hoping
something could be done in the Labels dialog box. It would be a few less
steps. But, I will now incorporate that method. Also, I did discover that
to populate a table (copy one cell, select the table, paste) with a graphic
plus text that you need to start new lines with the Newline rather than the
Enter. If you don't, it will split up the entry into different cells. (?)

Again, thanks for the clarification and the reference. You're the great
guru.

You obviously didn't read the link Suzanne posted which, amongst other
things, explains how to do this from the labels dialog box.
