Graphics print incorrectly

Hi, I have color graphics (jpg) made from scanned documents. I insert a
graphic into a word document, and print. What happens is that (sometimes) the
size of the printed graphic is distorted ("squeezed") or that 1 graphic is
duplicated. Is this a printer problem or a graphics format problem?
Interestingly, if I insert the graphics into a Visio file, printing works
fine. Any ideas.
