Graphics Question

I'm using Word 2007 in Compatibility Mode - have a lot of graphics in
documents. Oftentimes I want to know the file name of a certain illustration
that's linked (not embedded) in a document. If I right-click on the
illustration there are several options, but there's nothing that will tell me
the file name of the illustration.

With a document that's not in Compatibility Mode, I can right-click an
illustration, and then click Size and then ALT Text, and the file name of the
illustration will be desplayed. In Compatibility Mode I can get to ALT Text
but the field is blank.

Is there any way to find out the file name of an illustration in
Compatibility Mode?

Thanks

If the image is linked. Press ALT+F9 to display the field content to give
you the path that the field is linked to.

I posted this question in one forum (Discussions in Word General Questions)
and somehow the question was automatically entered into lots of forums -
ALT+F9 shows the filenames of all linked graphics in a document.

Thanks

The messages are stored on an NNTP file server which may be accessed by a
variety of web forums. Most of those who respond access the server directly

I keep posting in one forum (Discussions in Word General Questions) and my
posts keep appearing in lots of other forums, and I get answers in some ot
those other forums. But so far (as of 12/9) only my posts (not the answers)
are appearing in the original forum, so if that forum is looked at, it
appears like I'm talking to myself, but actually I'm replying to answers in
other forums. :)

The explanation (from an answer in another forum) is: the messages are
stored on an NNTP file server which may be accessed by a variety of web
forums.

Anyway, I'm glad that I was able to get an answer to my original question
about filenames for linked graphics.

Thanks again

The link from the Microsoft discussions forum is about as reliable as a
chocolate fireguard and currently seems to be broken again :(
If you must use a web forum, Google's Groups is much more reliable

Now all of a sudden the answers are appearing in the Microsoft discussions
forum!

But yeah if I ever have another question about Word, maybe I'll post it in
Google's Groups.

This has been an interesting experience, and now this is Text Ground signing
out of the inter-related group of Word forums - g'Day!
