Graphics ' resolution is reduced by OUTLOOK when message is sent out. Why? How to fix?

I an trying to send out a message with an embedded 1MB picture in the body text (as opposed to as an attached file).
When I SEND it out, the message goes out as 92KB.
of course the resolution of the pictures is dramatically reduced. How can I set up OUTLOOK to avoid this compression
