Graphics within PC spreadsheet not translating to Mac via web or email.

I have placed a spreadsheet (built on a PC) on the web for download. My
coworker downloaded it onto his Mac, but the graphics (pictures in excel)
translated into red x's. The rest of the info is fine. I then tried to
email it to him, but he had the same problem.
Is there a different format in which I should be saving the file? Or is
this a bug in Mac Excel?

red x's means missing picture - cannot find that picture or cannot
read it. we need more information what do you mean by picture:
*excel chart made form data on that spreadsheet/workbook
*excel chart copied from another workbook
*picture as image
and how did you make the PC workbook - how did youincluded the
graphic.

There might be some troubles to read some pictures formats on Mac,
however, Mac office do include filters to convert/read most of the
formats. More likely I suspect your object to be linked rather than
embedded. Can you give us the link for your workbook so we can have a
look? We would understand if not, as it is your private issue, but
then we need more information.

And further more I got another idea. You mentioned send by email or
download from web. Could that be that the pictures where not
physically downloaded from the network (mail server or network server)
either by email client setting - most people do have set to partially
download messages or restricted size of email to be downloaded.
Firewall can come into play when downloading from network server.
