Graphing - constant crashes when editing charts

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Every time I try to edit chart data, unless it's right after I start up Excel, the program crashes. This seems to be related to memory use, but it doesn't matter whether it's the first chart or the 10th chart. Any suggestions?
