Gray lines on document screen view

What are these faint gray lines that showed up while
viewing a document on screen? They do not print out and
show me where the top and bottom margins begin and end.
They are very annoying and I want to remove them. Thanks,

From your description, I'm guessing that you're talking about the so-called
"crop marks" that appear when you enable support for an Asian language. Go
to Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office <version>
Language Settings and disable support for any Asian languages.

These are called crop marks and they show up only on Page

view. I know what they are called, but I don't know how to
remove them from the screen either--so I need help too.

The answer was provided in this NG five days ago, within half an hour after
the OP asked it. You need to click the + beside the question to see the
answers, which I assume you have not done, since you have answered quite a

Try going to Tools/Options/View under Print and Web Layout Options. Unclick text boundries.
