Greek in Word

T

Trinka Gillis

Someone has asked me how they can type and edit Word documents in
Greek on a MAC. The person currently is using Mac Office 2001, and
according to the research I have done, Mac Office 2001 and X are not
compatible with Greek. Will the just-announced new version of Mac
Office be compatible?
Thank you.

Trinka,

You're right, Word 2001 does not support the Greek. However, there are two
ways that
Greek can be put into a Word 2001 document.

1. Insert Symbol
From the Insert menu select Symbol. The Symbol font contains Greek
characters, both upper and lower case. Simply choose the character you want
then click the Insert button.

2. Obtain a Greek font.
A quick search of the internet for Macintosh Greek Fonts turned up quite a
number of possibilities, both free and commecial Greek fonts. I do not use
Greek, so I could not reccomend any particular Greek font for your use.

Word 2004 will be released in the first half of this year. Other information
concerning Office 2004 will be available at www.mactopia.com as they become
available.
