Grey border around group of cells

Hello group,

I have received an Excel file from another person. There is a grey
border that appears around a group of cells which I can't figure out
how to remove. It is a double line with grey fill which appears if I
click on any cell within its border. If I click outside the border the
line disappears. Is this a group of some kind? It does not print when I
print the sheet. Also, there is an * (asterisk) instead of a row number
at the bottom row of the area enclosed by the border. Any ideas what
this indicates and how to remove it? I am using Excel for Mac 10.1.5.

Thanks in advance for the help.

It's a List Manager list.

See "About the List Manager and databases" in XL Help.
