Hi David: I'm glad you replied. I've been reading your responses to other
people which have been very helpful (and I've voted them so.)
Which version of Publisher are you using?
Publisher 2007.
When you say "page identifiers" are you talking about a)the navigation bar or
b)links that are automatically produced by Publisher, or
c) are you talking about the Status bar at the bottom of the
work area?
TISH RESPONSE: I assigned letters for clarity. Choice B- On the left side
of the home page there are boxes, that I called buttons, that were in the
order Publisher decided they should be. Pages were created automatically by
Publisher corresponding to those titles. When I moved the pages into a
different order, (as demonstrated by their numbers on the bottom left of the
screen -- which I think you are telling me is called the status bar--it may
have broken some automatically created links....I don't know as I didn't
check the hyperlinks until I was ready to view my pages.
David Response 1 to Question
If you are talking about the navigation bar, when you do a web page preview,
and click on the links, does it take you to the appropriate page, or to
another page as a result of you moving the pages around?
Tish Response to David
OK. Good thing I explained I'm new. Also a 'non-tech type'. I didn't know
about Web Preview yet. Went there, and discovered hyperlinks are alive and
well, so only problem with them is that they go happily to the places
Publisher first thought they should go. If I click on my retitled 2nd
'button' on left navigation table, it takes me to the page it originally
intended for that location, not my actual page 2 (per the info on the status
#s at the bottom left of my screen.) So now I need to know how to change the
hyperlinks and am terrified you are going to give me 'some code' as I have no
clue what to do with code! I love Microsoft Wizards. (I am a volunteer for
a non profit historical society and all of this is beyond my skill level as
you can see - what's scary is that I also run our server!.) Tish P.S. Thank
you, thank you for your patient instruction.
One of the problems with being new is that it is hard to ask questions using
