gridlines in Normal.dot

After creating and deleting a word document with gridlines displayed, every other document I open now has gridlines displayed that I can't get rid of.

Display the Drawing toolbar if it is not already displayed. Choose Draw |
Grid, and clear the check box for "Show gridlines on screen."
